About Us

Here at Big Star Kennel, we have always been a family of dog lovers. With acreage to roam, our farm has been home to many loved dogs over the years. In 2011, we adopted Roscoe – a white golden retriever who quickly became the star of the farm and best friend to our family and visitors alike. Soon thereafter, we decided to adopt a few female white golden retrievers with the intent to raise a few litters of puppies. At the time, it was just a hobby project that we wanted our youngest daughter to help manage as a way to set aside some savings for her college years.

Back then, our first litters of puppies commonly took over space inside our home as we were still primarily a pig farm. However, we were having so much fun raising these pups that we decided to fully transition our farm to a kennel. Since then, we have slowly modified our farm spaces to accommodate our dogs and we have added other breeds, big and small.

As we have grown over the years, so has our love for our dogs. Keeping our dogs happy and healthy is our biggest priority. Our kennels exceed size requirements for our USDA certification and all have outdoor access. Puppies are raised in our temperature controlled rooms and they are well socialized when they join their new families, often having experienced plenty of cuddles from our grandkids.

We welcome visitors at any time if you want to personally pick out your puppy, or if you want to meet any of our parent pups to wait for a specific litter.

We do not require an application, we only ask that you have a veterinarian lined up and ready to care for your new puppy.
